Burton-on-Trent’s history flows through water.This season’s away kit is a tribute to the town’s most overlooked but most
powerful ingredient: the mineral-rich waters of the River Trent.
It was Burton’s unique water—naturally infused with calcium sulphate—that
transformed a small town into the brewing capital of the world. These waters
gave Burton beer its clarity, its crispness, and its global reputation. So priced
was the chemistry of our water, it was once shipped in barrels across the
country by train, just so others could brew “the Burton way.”
The deep blue of the away shirt reflects the steady flow of the River Trent and
the canal routes that carried barrels of ale far and wide. Subtle tonal wave
details ripple through the fabric—a quiet nod to the current that still shapes
who we are.
Around the collar, a striking detail: the untied Staffordshire knot—a modern
twist on the county’s emblem. Left loose and open, it symbolises freedom of
thought, new traditions, and a club proud of where it’s from but never bound
by expectation.
At the heart of the design is the BA monogram, rendered in an off-white
“calcium tone”—a reference to the very mineral that powered an industry and
put Burton on the map. Inside, a subtle Burton-on-Trent motif is stitched into
